Edward Petersen Dies at Hospital
Edward James Petersen, 34, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Petersen, 401 East Cedar Street, died at 3:45 a.m. in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He had been a patient in the hospital for only four days.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 ;.m. at the McKelvey-Conroy Funeral Home, Harold J. Weaver, rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rawlins Cemetery with VFW members conducting graveside service.
Mr. Petersen was born in Dannebrog, Neb., April 19 1920 and came to Lamont with his family Nov. 18, 1932. The family lived there for two years before coming to Rawlins in 1934.
He attended the public schools in Rawlins and entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 10, 1942, serving with the armed forces in the European Theater of war. He was discharged Oct. 16, 1945 and returned to Rawlins.
For two years, Mr. Petersen was employed by the Wyoming Dairy and for several years was affiliated with the Rawlins Gas and Oil Company. For the past two years he was with the maintenance department of the town of Sinclair.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Petersen; a sister, Mrs. Robert Harmon, a brother, Milo L. Petersen; and two nephews, Carl Elmer Rynearson and Timothy Allen Rynearson, all of Rawlins.
