Mrs. Christian P. Petersen succumbs to long illness Services Held Monday
Mrs. Christian P. Petersen bed-fast for many months with an incurable ailment that affected the kidneys, passed away Friday.
On the recommendation of the local physician Dr. P. M. Pedersen, the patient was taken to the University Hospital in Omaha in June, but hopes that a cure or relief from pain might be obtained proved in vain and she was returned to her home here. She was under the constant and faithful care of Dr. P.M. Pedersen also Mrs. F.G. Sorensen the nurse and her dear ones, but became steadily weaker until the end came. During the last weeks paralysis affected her lower limbs.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Dannebrog Lutheran Church. Both pastors J.Chr. Pedersen and Harold C Jensen spoke. Interment was made in Oakridge Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Mrs. Christian P. Petersen whose maiden name was Karen Trina Andersen Kaae, was born at Davenport, Iowa on August 13, 1871. She was baptized into the Christian faith in Racine, Wisconsin. In 1883 she came with her parents to Marquette, Hamilton County, Nebraska at which place she was confirmed. On November 1, 1891 she was united in marriage with Christian P. Petersen of Dannebrog. To this union were born 4 sons and 1 daughter. The youngest son Alfred preceded his mother in death at the age of 13 years.
The Petersen family in the year 1900 moved to St. Libory, Howard County, Nebraska. For the last 15 years they have resided her in Dannebrog.
Mrs. Petersen has not been well of late and has been confined to her home during the past several weeks where she has been a patient sufferer. Her death occurred on August 25, 1933 at Dannebrog, her age being 62 years and 12 days.
Surviving her are her late husband, two sons Ferdinand of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Edmond of Ravenna,Nebraska, Elmer of Rawlins, Wyoming and one daughter Leonora of Cheyenne. There are also four sisters, Mrs. N.J Andersen and Mrs. S.H. Andersen both of Marquette, Nebraska, Mrs. Henry Hansen of Wimbledon, North Dakota, and Mrs. Christina Hartnell of British Columbia, two brothers Andrew Kaae of Cutler, Minnesota and John Kaae of Alma Washington, and nine grandchildren, beside a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. & Mrs. Petersen are members of the Dannebrog Lutheran Church, whose members together with their many other friends, mourn her passing.
