HOLDREGE - Hazel Genese Christensen, 92, of Holdrege, formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at her home in Holdrege.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grand Island City Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Keyser will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
The Nelson-Harris Funeral Home of Holdrege is in charge of arrangements.
She married Thomas Jefferson Bennet in St. Joseph, Mo. on May 12, 1928. They lived in southeastern Nebraska. In 1947, they moved to Grand Island. Mr. Bennet died in 1962.
On Jun 1, 1964, she married Carl Christensen in Grand Island. They lived on a farm near Boelus until Mr. Christensen's retirement in 1966. At this time they moved to Grand Island. Mrs. Christensen moved to Holdrege in 1992, where she lived until her death.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island and the O.E.S., receiving her 50-year pin last year. She also was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Boelus.
Survivors include her daughter, Genese Munn of Grand Island, and two grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one sister, Maudie Mobley, and five brothers, Charlie, Cecil, Ralph, Claude, and Emmett Garrett.
