DEATH/BURIAL: Age 81. While her date of birth is correctly given, the information on her place of birth and parents is incorrect. Initially her place of birth was written as Sønderhaa, which is then crossed out and replaced with Nørhaa, where her parents had died and where she was living until coming to Thorsted at age 27 in 1871 (see under marriage above). Space was then left to supply her parents' names and these are written later in a different hand as Anders Nielsen Junby and Mariane Oleo of Nørhaa. Our Karen was, however, born in Hvidbjerg v. Aa to Anders Christian Christensen and Mette Kirstine Christensdatter. The error apparently resulted from the parish priest's incorrect information or assumption of Nørhaa as the birthplace, then writing for details from Nørhaa parish. The Nørhaa parish reg. 1814-1852, opslag [image] 90, p. 89, #6 does show a Karen Andersen born to Anders Nielsen Junby and Mariane Oleo, but the date is 4 Oct 1842, whereas this Karen was born in Mar 1844. Fortunately, her headstone (with husband, who died seven years later) in Thorsted parish churchyard; gives dates and places for birth and death; the birth place is given correctly as Hvidbjerg v. Aa and date correctly as 18 Mar 1844."
