John J. Maixner, a long time resident of the Sweetwater and Ravenna communities,passed away at the Kearney Hospital on April 15, at the age of 63.
Mr. Maixner was born in Chetbor, Czechoslovakia on Oct. 26, 1898 to Anna and Joseph Maixner, then came to this country in 1904 with his parents, locating in Seward County.
He was united in marriage on October 18, 1927 to Rose Sorensen and moved to a farm near Sweetwater where he farmed for many years. Later spending two years in Missouri, he returned to Nebraska for his health.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; 4 daughters, Mrs. Ellen Kozel of Ravenna, Mrs. Rosaline Wolf of Spickard, Mo., Mrs. Esther Glinsmann of Kearney and Marietta at home; 3 sons; Jack of Durango, Colo., Frank of Las Vegas and Raymond of Lincoln; one brother, Stanley of Ravenna and four sisters, Mildred, Pauline, and Ann, all of Omaha and Bessie of Savannah, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services were held from the Love & Rohde Mortuary on Monday, April 18, with Lester E. Duncan officiating. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.
