DORIS EVELYN CHESLEY
A resident of Van Nuys, CA, age 86, passed away October 29th.
Doris was born in Racine, Wisconsin on January 21, 1926.
Her parents, Elsie and Anders Andersen emigrated from Thisted, Denmark and settled in Union Grove, Wisconsin where they established a farm.
Doris had an older brother, Robert, and two sisters, Esther and Joyce.
She moved to Los Angeles in the early 1950's where she worked as an executive secretary for United California Bank before marrying on August 9, 1958. She was an active member at First English Lutheran in Los Angeles and more recently at Christ the King Lutheran in Van Nuys.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Albert Edward Chesley, Jr.; two daughters, Alison Chesley of Los Angeles and Leigh Chesley of Berkeley; one son, Andrew Chesley of Van Nuys; many nieces and nephews; as well as her extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2nd, 11:00 a.m., at Christ the King Lutheran in Van Nuys. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth. Memorials in her honor can be given to Lutheran Social Services, 6425 Tyrone Ave., Van Nuys, CA 91401.
