Marie M. Petersen, daughter of William and Elsie Sonderup was born November 1, 1897 near Wolbach. She closed her eyes to this life on Sunday, May 8, 1966 at a Grand Island hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Petersen received her education in the Wolbach schools and attended Dana College. She was united in marriage to Theodore Petersen on December 18, 1929. The couple made their home on a farm in the Dry Creek area their entire life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog.

Surviving are her husband, Theodore; three daughters, Mrs. Madeline Peterson from Grand Island, Mrs. Carol Torres of Unity, Wisconsin and Mrs. Garnet Meyer of Hastings; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Enevoldsen of Dannebrog and Mrs. Emma Rasmussen of Cairo; one brother, Michael Sonderup of Blair; ten grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two grandchildren and four brothers.
