Hastings - Garnet I. Meyer, 64 of Hastings died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Rev. Sacia Vik will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at Hastings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home in Hastings and until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Meyer was born Jan. 19, 1939 to Theodore and Marie (Sonderup) Petersen.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter, Allison Meyer of Hastings; a son, Erik Meyer of Cadams; and two sisters, Madeline Peterson of Hastings and Carol Wright of Austin, Texas.
Other survivors include four grandchildren.
She attended Boelus High School in Boelus, graduating in 1956. She graduated from Kearney State College in 1960. She worked as a social worker since 1964. She was employed at the Hastings Regional Center and then later employed by the State of Nebraska Social Services. She retired from Mid-Nebraska Individual Services. She performed in a summer theatre group by the name of Tanglewood in Winston, Salem, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
