He was a Lutheran. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion in Dannebrog, Neb.
Survivors include his wife, Augusta M. Petersen of the home; two sons, Albert L. Petersen and Robert D. Petersen of Kansas City; a daughter, Cindy Shockey, Gladstone; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mount Moriah Terrace Park Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel The family suggests contributions to the Kendallwood Hospice.
